As a starting point, you could check with your local town officials as to what the expected impact would be on your respective lots. Regardless, you should contact an attorney (e.g. see other answer - all those issues may apply).

I would need a lot more information in order to determine what steps to take. If this is an interior line, there may be nothing more than a survey and exchange of deeds. However, if this will change lot size, require the movement of fixed boundaries, etc., then there may be zoning or planning board requirements which need to be met. Also, if there is any change in boundaries, the holders of mortgages on each parcel need to provide written consent to be recorded with any new deeds.

I suggest that retaining an attorney in land transfer matters is a good idea.
