Legal Question in Bankruptcy in New Jersey

No Personal Property, Can I still file bankruptcy?

Hello, I am interested in filing ch7 bankruptcy however I have no personal property to give except for my car, which I need to get to work. I live with my fiance, we rent not own our home and all the furniture is my fiance's.

I would like to know if I can still file bankruptcy and also, If a creditor is able to refuse to except bankruptcy to clear the debt owed to them?

hi - you can still file chapter 7. most creditors, unless they're secured creditors, can't prevent you from wiping out your debt to them. feel free to call me at 609 263-0089 if you have any other questions. good luck !!
