Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New Jersey

Car ownership

A guy asked me to put a car in his name (purchased in NJ, we live in MD). The agreement was that HE would pay for it. Now, he is not paying and he will not give the car back. What can I do?

Re: Car ownership

1. Don't do that again.

2. Sue to get title to the car. You will have to sue in a court of general jurisdictions (not Small Claims or Special Civil Part) because they can't give you the title as primary relief. If you are satisfied with a money judgment, then either of those courts will do.
