Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New Jersey

Credit dispute

I bought a loose diamond and a ring from a diamond store last fri, and they said it will be ready to pick it up on tuesday. but i had something happened on fri night, i called them saturday morning to cancel the order, but the store policy is only exchange for the returns(they don't have a cancelation policy), and the guy finally agreed he will give me half money back ,and the other half will be in store credi. but I want the full money back. I paid it through a credit card(Bank one), I called them saturday after calling the store, to dispute the charge. then they said I have a good chance to get the money back, since I haven't get the product. but they said today i have to comply with their return policy, and its hard for me to get the money back. I like to know what are my chances..

please reply

thank you

Re: Credit dispute

Under NJ law, the store must have a written return policy that must be clearly seen by customers, i.e at every entrance, on the product, by the register. If they don't, they are violating the law. In addition, you may have rights under the Truth in Lending Act because you used your credit card for the purchase. If the amount in dispute is significant, you may want to consult an attorney to protect your rights. Feel free to call me if you need add'l info at 973-659-9045. www.njconsumerfraudlawyers.com
