Legal Question in DUI Law in New Jersey

dui

I was charged with dui, refusal of dui, careless driving and failure to maintain a lane. My lawyer, the police officer and the prosecutor got together and work out a deal. They said the best they could do is 7 months loss of licenses. My lawyer told me to take it so I did. In court the judge tells me I agreed to plead guilty to dui and refusal loss of licenses for 7 months. My lawyer told me the prosecutor said there is a new statue so he could not throw out the dui or refusal, I feel I got screwed. How can I get both? Is there any thing I could do?

Re: dui

While I am a little confused, it does sound like something wierd went on here. You say you got both but only 7 months loss of DL? That doesn't make sense. I would need more info to help you out here.

If you are unhappy, you could file a PCR application with the court to take back your plea.
