Legal Question in Elder Law in New Jersey

My elderly uncle is paranoid schizophrenic (undiagnosed) and is now developing dementia, he is forgetting where he lives & whether he has family or not. None of his brothers or sisters want to take guardianship. No one can live with him & he is not able to live with anyone. He is verbally & sometimes physically abusive. Where can we start to seek help to get him the supervised help he needs? The VA home already informed us he would be ejected if he gets violent, so that is not an option.

wow, this is a horrible situation. someone can take guardianship, and place him in a nursing home or other appropriate care facility. there are a lot of questions to answer before doing that.

you may want to talk to a lawyer near you who handles guardianships. good luck to you, these are never easy.
