Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

Trust Fund For Child

My daughter's father recently past away in a head on car collision. Before that time, we were not together. Now, I am faced with whether or not I should trust her grandfather (her father's dad) to setup a trust fund for her. I would like to know if I have any rights in the matter if any.

Re: Trust Fund For Child

My first question is why are you distrustful of the grandfather?

Your daughter will need many things, including a college education. I would let the grandfather set up a trust fund, and ask to be made the trustee.

You should have an attorney review the trust documents and tell you your rights under the trust.
