Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New Jersey

Attorney willing to take payments

I have been sued in NJ District Court by a company in NJ for trademark infringment.

I live in California, not NJ.

I did not respond in time to the summons as i am an over the road truck driver, out for 3 to 4 months at a time, and missed the 30 day response.

They now filed a motion of default, as of 11-07-08.

I have just started a new job and my funds are limited, but i can make a down payment, and then make payments.

Is there any lawyer out there willing to help me?

California lawyers wont help, and im in a tough spot.

This may only entail one motion to set aside, then an answer on my behalf, or what ever the lawyer suggest we do.{''jurisdiction?}

I have tried many places, and no one is willing to help.

I can overnight the paperwork for review.

All i did was ''allegedly'' sell a few bottles of there diet pills {outdated} on a site called sell dot com.

They now want $5000.00 in fees + 2 million in the judgment.... for allegedly selling a few old bottles of there product.

This is a ''static'' website, and does not sell any product, its just an informational site.

Re: Attorney willing to take payments

You neeed an attorney admitted in the new jersey federal courts... But I'm sorry to tell you that you're very misinformed, an attorney submitting such documentation on your behalf would just be starting out... This would take quite some work to get going and any attorney handling federal matters, such as our office, would need a sizeable retainer to ensure our continued payment.
