Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in New Jersey

Can doctors deny you from getting your medical records

Can a doctor deny a patient to get her medical records mailed to her if she signs a release form. They say they will only mail to another doctor. But they will not mail them to her.

Reply, they cannot do this. You are entitled to your own records. Please call the Board of Medical Examiners, Ms. Chris Smith (609) 826-7134 if the doctor continues to refuse. She can usually help.

Good luck. Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance.
