Do you have anything in writing? Depending upon the length of the intended lease, you may have a claim to enforce it or at least get reimbursed for your expenses and losses. If the lease was to be for a year or more, to be valid it had to be in writing. In any event, a small claim suit in the county where the apartment is located may be the way to go. The cost of filing is minimal and you can represent yourself.
