Legal Question in Traffic Law in New Jersey

Worth hiring Lawyer

I got into an accident last night (I rear-ended someone) in the pouring rain (we had a flood watch), and the state trooper gave me tickets for tailgating ($54, 5points) and failure to produce documents(registration). Do I need to get a lawyer, and do I have a 24-hour window to present the registration information?

Re: Worth hiring Lawyer

get a lawyer.

find someone located near you, who appears in THAT PARTICULAR municipal court a lot of the time. Now, the hard part is finding a good, smart lawyer who handles traffic tickets; there are a lot of good ones, but also a lot of not at all good ones! get references (satisfied clients that you can talk to).

five points is too much too fool with.

Good luck to you.

Re: Worth hiring Lawyer

I would get an attorney as the ticket may have implications on a possible civil case.
