Legal Question in Workers Comp in New Jersey

N J workers comp?

i was told by someone that when the law suit is over and if i win the case, i would have to pay workers comp back 2/3 of what they have layed out for treatments. so far my comp expences are over 800k. do they realy collect?

I have to assume that you have a lawyer representing you since the amount of medical bills indicate a very severe injury. You should really consult with your current lawyer about the specifics of your case, but I will answer your question in general terms. In a New Jersey Workers Compensation case, if the personal injury portion of the case is settled first, then the workers compensation insurance carrier is entitled to receive a partial credit for the money they expended on the case. This is written directly into the workers compensation settlement forms when the workers compensation case is settled. So yes, the insurance carrier really does get paid back for a portion of the money they expended in your case.
