It depends upon the conditions of release. If they contain a prohibition against associating with a felon, then there has been a violation and the PO will determine if the matter should be referred to the Judge, who will determine what should be done. As SR violations go it is not grave, and there is a chance nothing would happen and the COR could be modified to permit the relationship. Undoubtedly things will go better if the arrangement is reported to the PO, as if s/he finds out from some other source things could go worse.
