Grand Larceny class D Felony

my daughter has been arrested for stealing, she is 23 years old and have never been in trouble with the law, she was taking scrath off lottery tickets from her place of employment, do you have any idea if she could serve jail time for this? She has a gambaling problem, and i am in the process of getting her help with that, and what are the penalties for this? thanks.........Lisa

A class D felony does not have a mandatory jail sentence attached, but that does not mean the prosecutor can't ask for it. If there is no prior criminal history perhaps a lawyer could negotiate probation instead of jail. You are welcome to call for a free consultation.
