Legal Question in Bankruptcy in New York

Bankruptcy questions for NY?

I have retained a lawyer for bankruptcy. My appt. with him is Monday 8-25.

How long after that appt. will the court day be? (approximately...i know you can't be specific)

When does the Automatic Stay go into effect? When the court appointment is made, or when it's entered at the courts?

Do I have to contact the people I owe money to, or does the courts?

Does my boss have to wait for a notice from the court or sheriffs to stop taking money out or can I just tell him after I know the automatic stay is in effect? (IE, I get notice of AS on Tuesday, he doesnt' take money out on Friday?)

Thanks so much for all your answers.!
