Re: paperwork needed for chapter 7

It is extremely important to be as complete as possible when preparing the schedule of creditors in your bankruptcy petition.

When you are not certain who all of your consumer lenders are, then obtaining a three-bureau credit report should give you all of that information. Thus, it would be a good idea to get a copy of the credit report, but make sure that it is a three-bureau credit report. Otherwise, you can get a report from each of the three main credit reporting agencies.

Keep in mind that some types of debts that you have would not be listed on the credit report and it would be up to you to advise your attorney of the following types of obligations: medical and dental bills, landscaping bills, mail order purchases with balances due, taxes, personal loans, possible liability as the result of a car accident, debts to landlords, utility bills, etc.

Please take a look at this article which discusses best practices for consumer bankruptcy attorneys to obtain information about a client's debts and liabilities. Here is the link: http://www.bankruptcycanhelp.com/pdf/2006-12-S-Best-Practices.pdf
