Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in New York

Can my creditor pursue legal action even if i pay them in full ?

My creditor wants full payment of my debt in 2 days. I offered a partial payment over the phone and a check for the balance next week. They refused and said if i did not pay in 2 days that it would be refered to a lawyer who in turn would bring this to court. What are my rights? if i pay in full next week and they refuse to cash the check, can i be held responsible for legal costs?

I would have to see the contract to offer you a complete response, but if you offer to pay, actually do pay andcomplete your debt, I see little else a judge would require from you, except perhaps interest. If they don't accept your payment tell them to take you to court, make sure you keep a record of your payment, or attempt to make payment.

Should you like to discuss this or any other legal matter, you can call my office to schedule an appointment for a consultation or in the alternative, I can be reached for on-phone low-cost legal consultation at 1-800-275-5336 x0233699.
