Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New York

Disputing amount of debt

I can't seem to find my origional loan papers, it was repo 3 yrs ago. Now they are showing that I owe about the same amount that I the loan was for. 1st I had the vehicle for over 1 year, 2nd I believe they have charged me interest for the last3 yrs. How do I go about requesting a copy of the loan & auctioned price & interest charged? Do I write the Company? Please advise. I need these facts to dispute this.

Re: Disputing amount of debt

When they send you a collection letter, all you have to do is dispute the matter in writting and they should send you the documentation back.

If, of course they sue you, you can then demand the paperwork in full.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
