Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New York

My husband was served a summons for a credit card from New Century Financial Services.The credit card is orginally from Credit One Bank.The attorney is Pressler & pressler from NJ.The account was opened in 6/2005. We have no idea how to answer this and does the statue of limitations apply here ?...any help or advice you can give please...thanks

If the card has been used in the past six years, your ability to resort to the statute of limitations is very tenuous. Likewise if any payments have been made. I would have to have some idea of the facts before I could give you any useful advice. Why don't you think you owe the money?
