falsly accused

I was falsly accused of grand larceny by my landlord. I was arrested in the morning, and D.A. dropped the case before it went to the judge and i was released that same night. can i sue for false arrest?

You would have a claim for malicious prosecution if you can show that the landlord (1) intentionally (and maliciously) instituted and pursued criminal charges (2) without probable cause and (3) that the case was dismissed. You may also have claims for false arrest and false imprisonment, etc.

You should note that these types of claims are generally subject to a one-year Statute of Limitations so you should act quickly.
