Legal Question in Discrimination Law in New York

age discrimination

A pediatric urologist has refused to see my daughter because she is too young. She is two and a half years old and if a pediatrician won't see her, then I don't know who can. Is this age discrimination and if so, can I sue them?

Re: age discrimination

Rather than worry about suing someone for age discrimination (no, you can't sue for age discrimination which protects on the other end of life) why don't you call your local hospital and ask who can treat your daughter? You can also call the county medical association. If you don't get satisfaction at either, call the American Board of Pediatrics and I'm sure they can help. The pediatrician who you saw probably handles older children or teens. There are ample physicians who treat younger children.
