Legal Question in Family Law in New York

Child Custody

I allowed my son to visit his

grandmother in New York back in

April and she filed a petition to

receive custody of my son and won. I

was never served papers. How was it

possible? Why did the judge grant

her custody?

I have no idea. More information and investigation is needed. If the Court did not have jurisdiction and if the information presented to the Court is false, you would have to file a writ to have your son presented before the Court and an application to terminate the prior decision.
