If you are married for 18 years and during this time, your wife has a child with another man, is the husband responsible for this child: under New York State law?

You are presumed to be the father until a paternity test proves otherwise. I would suggest that you get one immediately. Afterwards, when your wife asks you for child support you have proof that you are not the "baby daddy". I would bet, that your ex-wife will claim that you are the father when the real "baby daddy" turns out to be a deadbeat, lout, low-life or criminal. I have seen too many of these situations.

Protect yourself with a paternity test. The law is not on your side!!!!
