Legal Question in Family Law in New York

My divorce is final with the Supreme Court in Richmond County. My attorney does not have all the agreements that were filed back in October of 2009 and are not in the divorce decree because they took my ex-husbands verbal agreement that issues were resolved. Now I need those agreements, are they public record?

You have to go to the Richmond County Clerk and ask for the file. You should have the index number when you make the request. You will need identification. Copy of the Settlement Agreement and Judgment of Divorce should be located in the file.

Mike.
