Legal Question in Family Law in New York

In my divorce papers it states my ex-husband is to be named trustee for my life insurance policy for our daughter. That is not right - I'm not sure if it was over-looked by BOTH my lawyer and I or if his lawyer put it in after we signed the papers. His lawyer has already filed the papers with the court. How do I get this corrected? I literally just received my final copy of the separation aggreement. I need this corrected before its completely finalized. Help!

You didn't state why it isn't correct. In most cases, the ex-spouse will become the guardian of the minor children and would be the natural choice to handle the funds as the trustee of the deceased parent's life insurance policy. If you wanted another person to become trustee of the funds, your attorney should have requested this. Discuss the matter with your attorney. Your attorney will be the person to handle the matter.
