Legal Question in Family Law in New York

Never Ending Visitation Battle

I live in Va, Ex and 8y/o daughter in NY. She has custody I have visitation. I have been battleing for visitation since my daughters birth. She constantly interferes with the little bit of time I have with her and trys to dictate our events. I can't even reach my daughter on the phone most times. I am tired of paying attorneys to file contemp charges only to drop them later in mediation. It is costing me way too much. What eles can I do? Where can I find facts on NY family law?

Re: Never Ending Visitation Battle

Suggest you seek a modification of visiation to increase your time with your daughter. If your ex interferes with that, you may bave to seek a change of custody, on the premise that you will be more cooperative in facilating her visitation than she is in facilating yours.

Ask your daughter to call you. Teach her your number. If the mother objects, you can get an 800 number.

I practice in NYC and Long Island.
