Legal Question in Family Law in New York

I would like to mary the father of my children in new york, whom we have been living as a couple for 13 years. He owes back child support for grown adult children. Will I assume this financial responsibilty upon marriage? We will be filing taxes seperately. Furthermore, upon his death, will I assume responsibility for his debt?
