Legal Question in Family Law in New York

if a person has been separated for 2 years and paying child support (not through the court) if he had to go to court for child support will he be ask to show receipts from the time he has been separated?

or would he pay for current going forward. also should I stop paying until we go to court?

Generally, it would be for the current going forward. Also, generally, you should not stop paying child support. This is frowned upon by the Court.
