Legal Question in Family Law in New York

Hi !

The problem: A and B are not married, but will have a child together, soon. A is a citizen of Germany, B is a woman and citizen of NY.

What sort of claims ( on behalf of the child) will A have to face and how will these costs be calculated ?

Does it make a difference, if one party is rich and the other one is not ?

TRACEY BLOODSAW LAW OFFICE OF TRACEY A. BLOODSAW

The father will be responsible for child support once paternity it substantiated. Child support in NY is determined pursuant to the Child Support Standards Act, which is 17% for one child. Also, the court can add "add-ons" to the basic child support obligation. Also, if there are any medical expenses associated with the pregnancy he may be responsible for those as well.
