Legal Question in Medical Leave in New York

child support

after the divorce agreement (2 yrs) we made a verbal agreement about the amount. did not go back to court for modification. she accepted this for 8 yrs. last feb 2008 she filed a violation.wanting to collect now for the last 8 yrs. is there any law to protect me from this happening.($25,ooo. she claims) or is there a case we can refer to. please, please help me

In this situation you will need an experienced matrimonial lawyer. You will have to pay that lawyer and he/she will represent you at a support proceeding. $25000 is a lot of money. This is not the time to do your own legal research and fumble your way in front of a support magistrate. This is also not the time that you get a legal services attorney. Dig deep, borrow the $ and pay. It may be your best investment.
