Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New York

Assault

I was assaulted by a group of individuals (4-5 men) for nearly 5 minutes straight. One man held me down, while the others beat me in the head, hitting and kicking and smashing my head off the pavement. I never threw a punch, as I couldn't even move. I was transported to the hospital, and released with a concussion and several lacerations. Only one of the individuals was charged with assault, and one for disorderly conduct. I have an unbiased witness, a cap driver, who saw the entire thing and said if I needed him in court he would gladly help. The only reason that the assault stopped was because police arrived on scene. I strongly believe that if they did not show up, I could have possibly been beaten to death, as they went on for longer than 5 minutes, and I was obviously defenseless. I was struck I would say more than 15 times in the side of the head. Besides hospital bills, what else can I sue these people for?
