Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New York
A real estate agency damaged my property while showing it. They agreed to pay $350 if I don't sue them. They are asking me for a w9 form in order to pay me but I don't feel comfortable given them my social security number. Do I have to give them a w9?

Yes and its not unreasonable to request such information for income tax purposes.
