Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New York

Sexual Abuse (molestation) Statute Extention?

I am interested in seeing what the possibilities are for obtaining an extension on a sexual abuse (molestation) statute. I found that I was 6 months too late, and this perpetrator is now walking free after ruining my life forever.

Please let me know if it may be possible at all to extend the statute and if so, how would I go about doing it?

Re: Sexual Abuse (molestation) Statute Extention?

If you are speaking of missing either the 300 day (240 day in NY, some say) federal EEOC deadline, or the 1 year State Division or City Commission deadline, they are NOT extendable.

You should be aware that there is currently, by case law, a THREE YEAR statute of limitations, if you have not complained to any of the above entities, available to you under both Article 15 of the Executive Law and Article 8 of the City Administrative Code, and should contact a lawyer immediately. Someone, like us, who practices in this field of law. You cannot do an effective job yourself. There are simply too many pitfalls in pleading and discovery.
