Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New York

My friend has stored her stuff in my barn for almost 2 yrs and stated this would have been out long ago. I have asked her time & time again to remove. I have now sent her letter to remove it by 5/15/04. If she does not remove this stuff can I dispose of it? I need the room for my things I inventoried her stuff and it is all broken toys old books broken dishware

You should give her notice that you are going to dispose of the "stuff". While it may look like junk to you, some of it may be valuable and you will be liable for disposing of the valuable property. In addition, since she is (or was) your friend, you might consider returning it to her, or at least offering to, even though that is not legally required after you have given her notice that the bailment is going to be over soon.
