Is there a ''green card'' RENEWAL procedure & what are the requirements, if so

I am now a U.S. citizen, but before I obtained citizenship, I was working in the USA with a green card.

I have been working as a waiter. A casual acquaintance, a waitress I used to work with, has contacted me, requesting that I sign a

document verifying that I know that she is law abiding and of good moral character. This document is then to be notarized.

She says that she needs me to sign this document because it is needed as a prerequisite for her RENEWING her green card.

I was here on a green card myself, and I have never heard of renwing a green card, or of asking people to sign and notarize documents as character references for this purpose.

I don't know her that well, and i am concerned if I sign something attesting to matters like whether or not she is law abiding or of good moral character since I have no definitive knowledge on these matters, and i am concerned about legal penalties against me (e.g., perjury), fraud if she is actually shown to be not law abiding, etc.

Is there really a process for RENEWING green cards, which requires a written, signed notarized statement by a character witness, stating that the green card renewal applicant is law

abiding?

It appears that she may have done something that brings her morals into question. However, no citizen or non-citizen should swear to a document that they know is false. Do not do her a favor and assist her in committing fraud.
