Legal Question in Intellectual Property in New York

In USING A l.e.d ( light emitting devise ) IN OR ON an invention do I need

permission to USE A LIGHT? MY POINT it's just a small light? so what gives?

a small light can't be patented or can it? just wondering.. l.e.d is old school tech

I am just wondering cause our team is getting to the nuts and bolts of our product

and need to know,.. and if THEY CAN have a say do we need to submit a request

for contractual use or just pay them like the radio stations do artists wrote write

music... thanks..

If you believe you may be infringing the patent, you will need to obtain specific permission from the patent owner. However, if you are using another's patented device (the led) in its finished form (you are not manufacturing it), it does not sound like a clear issue of patent infringement to me. But, you should have a Patent Attorney in your area take a more thorough look at the situation before proceeding.
