Re: felony conviction and travel out of the country

The process of obtaining a pardon is time consuming and difficult. It granted only by the President and generally there must be a compelling showing as to why you are entitled to a pardon. In addition, they are generally granted around Christmas very few are granted. I believe that President Bush granted fewer than 20 this year. If you still wish to pursue it, there are many lawyers who can assist you in this process, many of whom are located in Washington and have experience with the Office of the Pardon Attorney.
