Legal Question in Employment Law in New York

My company terminated and employee and offered her a separation agreement. We are in New York. Is there a specific number of days that the agreements needs to stay active? The ex-employee said it is 7 days in the state of New YOrk. I think that is for severance packages not terminations.

I d/k the answer BUT I had to deal with this with my husband's company (same zip code-could be the same huge company). They out a time limit on the documents themselves that was more than 7 days. If his company is a big company covered by a union, call the company's employee service center (Hewitt) and/or ask the union reps at Pine St. (not the ones in the office or "shop").

If you are on Long Island, my e-mail and website are [email protected] Carolryderlaw.com

I only work in the Long Island courts, but I AM admitted to federal court as well as NY (Fed ct has lots of union and company laws).
