Legal Question in Employment Law in New York

Constructive Discharge

I experienced such a high level of harassment from my supervisor (who is also the Executive Director of the agency) that I resigned. My brother-in-law told me that I might be able to pursue legal action against the agency, since my employer created such an intolerable circumstance that I had no alternative but to leave the agency. He calls this an example of ''constructive discharge.'' I don't know if that's the right term, but I would like to know if I might have some recourse.
