i am a taxi driver in larchmont new york. someone has pressed assault charges against me. the village has taken my hack licence till this matter is settled in court. can i sue them?

You can but you may not win. The village has a duty to protect the potential passenger. It is noty unreasonable to suspend the hack license of someone charged with assault until the charges are resolved. If a passenger was subsequently assaulted, they might be held liable,
