Legal Question in Employment Law in New York

''Very Urgent''

I am a superintendent in Yonkers,NY. I was suspended with out pay because, as my right, I did not answer my phone on the weekend (fri-sat). I was out of the area and it was for an emergency to put the heat back on. My union representitive told me exactly to turn off my phone on the weekend. My building has emergency service and everyone is supposed to call that. What actions do I take about this situation.
