Legal Question in Employment Law in New York
I work for a cathloic school. i had surgery back in june and asked my boss before i went for the surgery if my job was secure she said yea of course. well i was scheduled to go back to work on ocr 4,2010 and on friday oct 1,2010 i was called in for a meeting with the manager and my boss. they cut my hours from 40 to 25 hours per week. i just received my paycheck and they also cut me from 12.19 per hour to 11.50 per hour. can they do this. they gave my 15 hours to the person who covered for mw during my surgery. please advise me thank you so much i really need the job and the health nsurance .
