Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in New York

I am living with someone in a 5 bedroom house, there are 7 people in this house and that includes me and my daughter, who is only 10. I pay $300 a month for living expenses for us. We have to share a bedroom that only has one outlet. Im not allowed to put a lock on the door because there is a 22 year old male that has to walk through our bedroom to get to his room. When we go to my parents on the weekend I come back and our things are moved. What are my legal rights? I don't believe that my daughter and I can legally share a room. I think legally there is to be an outlet every 6 feet. Please help me!!!

It seems that you are part of an illegal rental. A court will not uphold an illegal agreement. I think you should seek proper accomodations for you and your daughter.
