Legal Question in Personal Injury in New York

injury on city street

While waiting for a light to change, I was run into by a person rollerblading, who couldn't stop. As a result he broke my right fibula on impact, got up and took off. I was out with a broken leg for 3.5 months. I heard that there's a law that will allow me to collect for this accident, being that it occured on a city street, and for the pain and suffering that was caused to me even though this person left the scene. Can you help me with this?

Re: injury on city street

Sorry to say I know of no such law. You can call your auto insurance carrier maybe you can convince them to pay out on your under-insured uninsured MVAIC policy but I would really doubt that above.

Before you give up entirely, call a personal injury lawyer and be sure I haven't missed something.

Good luck
