Legal Question in Personal Injury in New York

Personal Injury Lawsuit against my Deceased Father

Someone is filing a personal injury suit against my Deceased Father from just shy of three years ago that occured while he was working as a bus driver. All of his property and money were in both his and my mother's name and simply reverted to her sole ownership at the time of his death. Are all these things at risk? Shouldn't he be protected by his job's insurance?

Re: Personal Injury Lawsuit against my Deceased Father

It is the insurance that was in effect on the date of the accident.

Yes, his employer's insurance should cover it. Call them.

Re: Personal Injury Lawsuit against my Deceased Father

The lawsuit actually needs to be filed against the Estate of your father, but that is for the plaintiff to figure out. And I agree with the other two answers, the insurance coverage afforded by his former employer should cover this. You should contact them immediately with the suit details.
