Legal Question in Personal Injury in New York

reopen a case

In 1986 I was hit by a car. While I was in a coma my Dad found a lawyer.

I have a copy of a retainer but me or my dad did not sign it.

I recieved $10.000 for pain and suffering; but we did not sign the retainer.

I almost lost my life and my left leg.

I am still suffering from pain. I feel this is not right. I have a life time disablity. Since I did not sign the retainer can I reopen this case?

Re: reopen a case

There may have been only a $10,000.00

insurance policy in which case, its a good settlement.

The question is not the retainer but the release. If a release was signed by your guardian, thats it.
