Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York

Laws are now more favorable to Landlords?

A friend stated to me that the laws changed because when u took a tenant to court the judge would say ''it is not your tenants job to pay the mortgage'' etc..., but that has changed to where u can reasonably expect the income to help pay for the house. Any truth to this?

Don't expect anything. It depends on the county and judge what kind of treatment you'll get, altho each judge think's s/he is fair! I would say that Kings COunty is still rather pro-tenant, but others may disagree with me.
