Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York
My mother is concerned that she will get in trouble from her mortgage company, the county or state because her daughter and family live with her. The house is not separated with an apartment, it has separate bedrooms for everyone and my sister pays her money toward the mortgage and other bills. My sister also pays most of the utilities. The home is located in Nassau County NY. I have said that it is not anyones concern who lives there, unless there was a separate apartment and you collected rent but did not report it. Please help me ease my mothers mind.
