Re: property deed

The easiest way is to see a lawyer. Short of that, go to a stationary store and obtain a blumberg form for a deed. Take your old deed and type in all the information, together with the name of the person that you want to add to the deed. You will also need a TP584 form. If in NY city, you will have to prepare the form using an ACRIS account. If outside the city, you will need a NYS equilazation form.

The deed must be signed before a notary public. The notary must acknowledge the signature.

The signed deed together with all forms are then filed with the County Clerk where the property is located. There is a fee to file a deed. The amount of the fee depends on the county.

Re: property deed

The process is rather simple, assuming you have an experienced real estate attorney handling your file. An attorney should draft up a new deed reflecting the new changes and have the necessary paper recorded in the county clerk's office where the property is located. There is a fee to file a deed. The amount of the fee depends on the county. You will also need to file a TP584 form and an E&A form along with the deed. If the property is in NYC, you will have to prepare the form using an ACRIS account. The whole process, without an attorney, should cost less than $200.
