Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York
remove someone from my home
My current live in boyfriend will not leave my house as i have been asking him to do for months. I no longer want him in my life and it is becoming very frustrating waiting for him to get his act together to leave. i own this home myself, he has been there for one year. Do i have to get a court order and if so, how do i go about doing that? Will i have to have the police come to physically remove him? How will he collect his belongings after that? how will i be sure he can not return in a fit of rage?

Re: remove someone from my home
Well as it appears that you gave him permission to live there, if he refuses to leave the only option you really have is to institute summary proceedings for his eviction, this area of law does happen to be one of our specialties, however, we would need some more information before making a complete and proper determination.
